Glossary: Definitions of Words We Use Often

HeroMaker:

A Hero Maker focuses on empowering others—encouraging, equipping, and providing opportunities for people to rise to their own potential and be a hero to others.

HeroMakers Collective:

A Community of HeroMakers providing the tools, strategies and connections that enable transformation at a personal, business and community level.

Hero:

A person who demonstrates courage, selflessness, and a willingness to take action for the good of others, often at personal risk or sacrifice.

Accountability:

Holding you accountable to the truth of your identity, regardless of current circumstances.

Real or True Identity:

What God has to say about you, the name he calls you, and who He made you to be.

False Identity:

A distorted self-perception based on external influences (e.g., failures, success, opinions of others) rather than God’s truth.

Fear:

A barrier that holds people back from stepping into their God-given identity. Fear distorts reality, but truth sets us free

Guilt:

I have done something wrong. A feeling of responsibility for a past action, but one that should lead to growth and redemption rather than self-condemnation.

Shame:

Says something is wrong with me. The false belief that you are unworthy or unlovable. Shame keeps people from embracing their true identity.
